Terms and conditions

Last updated 4 November 2026

These terms cover appointments with Dr Paul Worth and use of this website. The full appointment terms, which you will be asked to sign, are in the terms and conditions PDF (opens in a new tab).

01

About us

Paul Worth Neurology Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales (company number 12042009). Registered office: Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital, 30 New Road, Impington, Cambridge, CB24 9EL. We are not VAT registered. For questions about these terms, email jane@drpaulworth.co.uk.

02

Fees

  • An initial consultation (40 minutes) will not exceed £350.
  • A follow-up consultation (20 minutes) will not exceed £225.
  • If you need a longer appointment, please speak to Dr Worth’s secretary, who will give you a quote in advance.
  • If it is more than a year since your last appointment, Dr Worth may advise a 40 minute consultation at the £350 rate where this is in your interest. Please check with his secretary if in doubt.
03

Paying your account

Invoices and payments are handled by Civica Medical Billing and Collection (CMBC) or through Carebit, Dr Worth’s practice management system.

  • Self-funding patients may be asked for a credit or debit card to confirm the appointment. It is used to settle your account within 15 days of the appointment. A card taken by the hospital cannot be used to pay Dr Worth’s invoice.
  • Insured patients: CMBC invoices your insurer. Please check your outpatient cover and any limits with your insurer before your appointment. You are responsible for any fees your insurer does not pay.

If someone else is paying your bill, you remain responsible for any charges they do not pay.

04

Tests from other providers

Tests such as blood tests and scans carried out by the hospital or another provider are charged by that provider, separately from Dr Worth’s fees. Please check costs with the provider, or cover with your insurer, before the test. Dr Worth will tell you in advance about any fee he charges for a test.

05

Cancellations

We require at least 48 hours’ notice if you wish to reschedule or cancel your appointment or procedure without charge. For appointments on a Monday, we must receive notification before 11am on the preceding Thursday.

  • For cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice, or if you do not attend your appointment, a cancellation fee of 100% of the appointment charge at the self-pay rate will be charged.
  • For cancellations with more than 24 hours’ notice but less than 48 hours’ notice, a cancellation fee of 50% of the appointment charge at the self-pay rate will be charged.
  • If you do not attend your appointment without prior notice of cancellation, 100% of the consultation fee is charged.

Most insurers will not cover a cancellation fee, so you would be invoiced directly.

06

Reports and letters

After your consultation Dr Worth writes to the person who referred you, usually your GP, and to other health professionals involved in your care, unless you ask him not to. You receive a copy, usually by email or through the Carebit patient portal. See our privacy policy for how your information is handled.

07

Quality information

You can compare independent information about the quality and cost of private treatment from the Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN) at phin.org.uk (opens in a new tab).
